Guide on Water-Scrum-Fall Model

Importance of Water-Scrum-Fall Model:
The Water-Scrum-Fall model is crucial as it allows for more flexibility and faster delivery compared to purely deterministic models such as Waterfall, but still provide certain levels of stability. It incorporates aspects of both Waterfall and Scrum, thus adding predictability for more skittish stakeholders or high-stakes environments, while maintaining the advantages of iterative development.

What is it:
The Water-Scrum-Fall model is a hybrid agile and traditional methodology. The Design and Realization phase is iterative, therefore known as Scrum. The rest of the phases like building specifications, system setup, and going live are sequential and hence known as Waterfall.

How it works:
The Water-Scrum-Fall model begins with a determinate waterfall stage: a team defines a project’s scope and desired outcome. In the next stage, the scrum takes place. It involves iterative work cycles for developing the product. Finally, it ends with another waterfall stage where the product gets launched and reviewed.

The Water-Scrum-Fall Model is a hybrid agile approach that involves using a combination of waterfall and Scrum methodologies to gain the benefits of both. This model aims to achieve more flexibility and agility of Scrum along with the structure and predictability of the Waterfall model. In this model, the requirements and design phases are done in a traditional waterfall manner, and then Scrum methodology is used for the development and testing phases. The final phases of delivery and maintenance are again done in the waterfall model.
