Why it is important: Burndown Charts help in predicting the project completion date reliably. They are a measure of productivity and performance that enables the team to inspect and adapt their working strategies.

What it is: A Burndown Chart depicts the amount of work remaining (on the y-axis) over time (on the x-axis). The line (or the 'burn down') in the chart shows the pace at which the work is being completed.
