Guide on Daily Stand-Up and Exam Tips

Daily Stand-Up: What is it?
The Daily Stand-Up, also known as the Daily Scrum, is a brief meeting that is held daily in a Scrum Team. It typically runs for 15 minutes and allows the team to review progress, discuss issues and plan for the next 24 hours.

Why is it Important?
The Daily Stand-Up provides a platform for team communication, fosters transparency and aids in issue discovery and resolution. It keeps everyone on the same page, encourages ownership, and promotes continuous improvement.

How Does It Work?
In the Stand-Up, each team member answers the following three questions: What did I complete since the last stand-up? What do I plan to complete by the next stand-up? Are there any impediments in my way? The discussion is strictly timeboxed to force the discipline of succinct reporting and focused conversation.

Exam Tips: Answering Questions on Daily Stand-Up
Remember that the focus of the Daily Stand-Up is on the work, not the worker. Answers should be concise and to the point. The Stand-Up is not for problem-solving but rather for identifying problems. If you're given a question about what happens during a Daily Stand-Up, go back to the three key questions the Scrum Team members answer. If a question asks what a Scrum Master should do during a Stand-Up, remember that their role is primarily to facilitate the meeting, and to act on any impediments identified.

Remember that the Daily Stand-Up is about commitment, so when answering questions relating to this, relate back to individual commitment to tasks and team commitment to the Sprint Goal.
