Guide: Sprint Planning in Scrum

Sprint Planning is a crucial event in the Scrum framework. It is a meeting in which the Scrum Team decides what to work on during the upcoming sprint.

Importance:
Sprint Planning is important because it provides the whole team with a clear understanding of what can be delivered in the sprint and how that work will be achieved.

How it works:
Sprint Planning involves the collaborative effort of the entire Scrum Team. The Product Owner proposes the goal and the Scrum Team selects and discusses the tasks to fulfill that goal. 'Product Backlog' items are turned into an increment of potentially releasable functionality.

Answering Exam Questions:
In an exam, you need to focus on the importance of Sprint Planning, its role in Scrum, how it helps to determine what to deliver and how to accomplish the work. Remember that Sprint Planning is a time boxed event which marks the start of a new sprint and the duration of this meeting is usually 2 hours for a one week sprint.

Exam Tips:
1. Understand the difference between the Product Backlog and the Sprint Backlog.
2. Remember the standard length of Sprint Planning based on the length of the sprint.
3. Keep in mind that the outcome of Sprint Planning is the Sprint Goal and Sprint Backlog.
4. Do not confuse Sprint Planning with Daily Scrum.
