As a project manager incorporating a Laissez-Faire leadership style, you act more as a facilitator than a direct leader. The Laissez-Faire style is marked by an emphasis on allowing the team to self-organize, make decisions, and manage their own tasks. When presented with a significant change request from a client that may affect the project timeline, involving the team in assessing the impact, and determining the best course of action is a suitable response. This facilitates collaboration and problem-solving within the team. Here is why the other options are incorrect: Ignoring the client's request disregards their needs and is unprofessional; this could harm the project's success, client relations, and future business opportunities. Accepting the client's request without consulting the team would not be suitable: as a Laissez-Faire leader, one must include the team in major decisions, especially those that may impact their work. Refusing the client's request based on your review solely discount the team's input, deviating from the principles of Laissez-Faire leadership style.

The best course of action as a Laissez-Faire leader is to allow the team to continue discussions until they can reach a conclusion on their own, regardless of how time-consuming this might be. The Laissez-Faire leadership style is characterized by letting team members work things out on their own with minimal interference. Therefore, a laissez-faire leader would not intervene and make a decision to save time or appoint a team member to make the decision, as these actions contradict the very essence of this leadership style. Picking the most popular solution also isn't a characteristic of laissez-faire leadership and could potentially overlook better, less popular solutions.

The best approach when dealing with an underperforming team member in a Scrum team is to discuss privately with them to understand any issues and jointly develop a performance improvement plan. This approach respects the team member's dignity and is aligned with the Agile values of individual and interactions as well as collaboration. It allows the leader to understand possible root causes and empowers the team member to change their behavior or improve their skills. The other options are not effective or respectful. Replacing the member immediately doesn't solve the root cause and does not demonstrate agility in managing individuals. Ignoring the problem may further decrease the productivity of the team. Lastly, publicly criticizing the team member can harm the morale and cohesion of the entire team.
