Guide for Burndown Chart

The Burndown Chart is an important aspect of Scrum project management and extreme programming. It's a visual representation of work left to do versus time.

Why it's Important: A Burndown Chart is a powerful visual aid for tracking project progress. It helps teams to visualize the amount of work remaining and how quickly they are completing tasks, enabling them to adjust their planning if necessary. It's about transparency, predicting and managing risks, and ensuring steady progress.

What it is: In its simplest form, a Burndown Chart is a graph where the x-axis represents time (usually in days) and the y-axis represents remaining work (usually in story points or hours). The chart starts at the top left, with the total amount of estimated work, and ideally should 'burn down' to zero by the end of the sprint.

How it works: Each day, the team members update the remaining work for the tasks they are working on. This updated value is plotted on the chart, giving a line that demonstrates how quickly the team is burning through its work. This line can be compared with an 'ideal' line, which represents the expected pace of work.

3. Problem-solving: Be prepared to discuss what action should be taken if the actual progress line deviates significantly from the ideal line.
